Budget summary of province number 1 2079/80
Indra Bahadur Angbo, the provincial minister for economic affairs and planning in Province 1, gave the Provincial Assembly a Rs39.73 billion budget.
The Province 1 administration has set aside Rs3.67 billion for health care, Rs2.59 billion for agriculture, and Rs6.2 billion for drinking water, electricity, irrigation, and river management. The province has set aside Rs1.13 billion for tourist marketing.
To combat infectious disease outbreaks, the government plans to modernize the Covid-19 facility at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar soon.
For road infrastructure and urban development, the budget's greatest allocation of Rs12.41 billion has been made. 5 billion rupees have reportedly been set aside, according to Minister Angbo, for the development of 66 provincial highways, bridges, and important roadways. The majority of the projects will be finished by the provincial government in the next fiscal year.
According to Angbo, the province's government officials would get a payment equivalent to one month's salary as encouragement. Additionally, funding has been set aside for initiatives like raising the Udayapur Cement Factory's production capacity and branding local alcohol by passing the required legislation in collaboration with the federal government.
For the contentious Constituency Infrastructure Development Special Programme, 900 million rupees have been made aside. The Provincial Assembly members can use the funds under this plan to improve their individual constituencies.
