Emotions Running High
In Episode 4 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 3, Tokito Muichiro, the Mist Hashira, defeats the fish minion created by Gyokko, the potted demon. Kotetsu, grateful for being saved, expresses his gratitude by hugging Tokito. However, Tokito intends to leave, but Kotetsu informs him that Kanamori is under attack while protecting Haganezuka, who is fixing a 300-year-old blade. Kotetsu pleads for Tokito's help, and suddenly, Tokito hears Kagaya Ubuyashiki's voice in his head, hinting that he will soon discover himself. In a flashback, it is revealed that Tokito suffered severe injuries and lost his memories.
Ubuyashiki advises him to continue living temporarily, which led to his current apathetic state. However, he also mentions that even the smallest trigger can bring back his old memories. Despite his doubts about leaving the village defenseless, Tokito takes Kotetsu and rushes to aid Kanamori.
Meanwhile, Tanjiro unintentionally cuts Urogi's clone, the winged demon, realizing that each split clone represents an emotion, such as joy, and their power decreases with each division. As Urogi attacks, his clones vanish, and Tanjiro learns that there is a limit to his ability to create clones. Despite his efforts, Tanjiro struggles to defeat Urogi, who keeps attacking to generate more clones.
Elsewhere, Nezuko confronts Karaku, the pleasure clone, while Genya is injured after being stabbed by Aizetsu, the sorrow clone. Sekido, the anger clone, grows impatient with Karaku's antics and wants him to finish off Nezuko, but Karaku continues to toy with her. Aizetsu attempts to remove Genya's spear but is shot in the head. Although Aizetsu regenerates, Genya persists in chanting the Amida Sutra and remains determined to kill him.
Observing the chaos, Karaku eagerly joins the fight and kicks Nezuko, but she retaliates using her demon blood art, employing his own fan to blow him away. However, Sekido impales her neck with his staff and unleashes lightning attacks. Meanwhile, Tanjiro seeks a way to defeat Urogi and come to Nezuko and Genya's aid. He pretends to flee, but when Urogi attacks, Tanjiro stabs him in the mouth, using the clone's body as support to return to the house. Tanjiro clashes with Sekido, realizing that damaging the clones' tongues slows down their regeneration. However, before he can fully free Nezuko, Sekido swiftly recovers and launches another attack. Karaku then appears and assaults them, causing the Kamado siblings to lose consciousness as they fall through the floor.
As the attack unfolds, the villagers sound the alarm to alert everyone, while the swordsmiths struggle against the fish minions. Mitsuri, who had been assigned to a nearby district, rushes to their aid, guided by her crow.
In the epilogue, a Kimetsu Academy story is featured. Mitsuri, a 19-year-old art student, aspires to bring happiness to people through her paintings. Although her plushie discourages her by claiming no one will like her due to her gluttonous nature and overwhelming power, Mitsuri remains undeterred as she continues to create her art. Unbeknownst to her, she is incredibly popular among the boys at the academy.
