The anime adaptation of Record of Ragnarok has undergone a remarkable journey in the industry. When it initially premiered on Netflix in June 2021, it faced heavy criticism for its animation quality, which lacked fluidity and resembled a slideshow rather than a proper anime adaptation. Taking this feedback into account, the adaptation team made the decision to seek assistance from Yumeta Company to collaborate with Studio Graphinica in order to improve the animation. As fans eagerly anticipate the release of Record of Ragnarok Season 2 Part 2, they are excited to see if the animation quality continues to evolve and enhance the viewing experience.

Based on the manga created by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, with illustrations by Ajichika, the anime has captivated viewers with its thrilling storyline. The series revolves around Ragnarok, a tournament-style battle where humans and gods clash in 13 epic encounters. The survival of humanity hinges on one side winning 7 out of the 13 battles. Although the odds appear stacked against the humans, Valkyrie Brunhilde has devised a plan to ensure their victory.

The first part of Record of Ragnarok concluded with an intense battle between Tameemon and Shiva. Over time, Tameemon's muscles deteriorated, while Shiva's body burned with relentless intensity. Eventually, Shiva dealt a devastating blow, destroying Tameemon's arm and sealing his defeat. Tameemon, aware of his impending loss, asked Thrud to separate from him to save her life. However, she expressed her love for him and chose to share his fate. Shiva beheaded Tameemon, resulting in Thrud's demise as well. Despite his defeat, Shiva acknowledged Tameemon as a worthy opponent, impressed by his resilience throughout the entire match. Injured, Shiva left the arena and acknowledged the strength of humans to the gods.

Thrud's death deeply affected Brunhilde, and she added Tameemon's image to the shrine while shedding tears. Subsequently, Zeus approached Buddha and requested his participation in the sixth match. Surprisingly, Buddha accepted the offer and declared that he would fight on humanity's side. Meanwhile, Göll, devastated by Thrud's loss, overheard Ebisu plotting revenge against Buddha while seeking treatment for her injured hand. As the other Seven Lucky Gods closed in on Göll, prepared to attack her, Jack the Ripper appeared and extended a gesture of kindness by offering her tea. Thus, the story took an unexpected twist with Buddha's decision to fight alongside humanity in the upcoming match.
