"Shrek" was once seen as a unique and refreshing addition to the world of animated films, with its humorous and self-aware references to pop culture. However, the sequels became repetitive and predictable, and the overuse of the band Smash Mouth's music became a problem. The studio behind "Shrek," DreamWorks, eventually earned a reputation as being inferior to Pixar in terms of quality.
It's pleasantly surprising that "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," the second film featuring the beloved character from children's literature who became a fan favorite in the "Shrek" series, is mostly successful. It has funny jokes and an old-fashioned desire to tug at heartstrings, despite the plot, which resembles a video game, in which Puss and his friends, aided by an animated map, race to a dark forest to find a wishing star, with other malevolent characters from children's stories in pursuit. It is one of the best movie along with Avatar: The Way of Water with eye dropping and heart stopping moments. Scroll down to down the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish in one click with English subtitle.
Puss in Boots: The last wish major Plot
Movie Review
Antonio Banderas voices Puss and his purring voice is charming, as is Salma Hayek Pinault's performance as Puss's love interest, Kitty Softpaws. The movie, directed by Joel Crawford, has a tone that is reminiscent of the "Fractured Fairy Tales" from the old TV cartoon "Rocky and Bullwinkle." For example, Goldilocks and the Three Bears are now a group of criminals (voiced by Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone, and Florence Pugh). Overall, this movie is charming and will especially appeal to cat lovers, but really, who isn't a cat person?
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, a sequel that took over a decade to be released, may be exactly what DreamWorks Animation needed. Like the studio's previous film The Bad Guys, the animation style in The Last Wish has its own unique style and personality. Similar to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Last Wish combines 2D hand-drawn and CG animation effectively. The action is exciting and allows the filmmakers and animation team to be creative; at times it plays out like a comic book, with a scene that is a rainbow-colored tribute to Mad Max, and plenty of visual gags that will make both younger and older audiences laugh. The landscapes are beautiful and there is never a dull moment in the film's 100-minute runtime.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a fun and entertaining sequel to the 2011 film. It features a great cast, impressive visuals, and plenty of laughs that are suitable for the whole family. Although it may not revolutionize animated cinema, it successfully captures the humorous and imaginative spirit of the original Shrek series. Overall, it is a enjoyable and worthwhile continuation of the Puss in Boots story.
