Plot Summary:
Gabimaru the Hollow, a ninja from Iwagakure Village, was betrayed by his own comrades and is now facing capital punishment. Despite his cold and indifferent demeanor, he secretly desires death as he is weary of a life filled with killing and betrayal. However, all attempts at executing him have failed, and it is revealed that Gabimaru has a strong reason to live. He wants to reunite with his wife, who caused him to lose his ruthless edge and become a less effective assassin. Driven by this desire, he refuses to accept his fate and embrace death.
Asaemon the Decapitator, a renowned executioner, comes up with a proposition for Gabimaru. She invites him to join an expedition to an island south of Japan, in search of the elixir of life. In exchange for his participation, Gabimaru will receive a full pardon from the Shogunate. However, the island is no ordinary land, as it is believed to be Paradise. The exploration team consists of individuals who are marked for death, and the island holds many mysteries that they may not be prepared to face.
