Mashle: Magic and Muscles episode 1 

Viewers were able to witness Mash Burnedead's combat skills in the first episode of Mashle: Magic and Muscles. While the narrative takes place in a world where magic is commonplace, Mash is a unique case as he lacks magical abilities and instead focuses on physical training as a means of protection. Mashle: Magic and Muscles, a manga series created by Hajime Kōmoto, spans 16 tankabon volumes and was serialized from January 2020 until April 2023. Following the manga's conclusion, an anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures was announced.

The first episode of Mashle: Magic and Muscles commenced with Mash's arrival home following his workout session. In his haste, he forgot whether to push or pull the door, and as a result, he broke it down. Regro Burnedead, Mash's elderly father, was displeased with his son's actions and admonished him. Mash was quick to express remorse and offer to fix the door, but his efforts only worsened the situation. In a moment of curiosity, Mash inquired why he only focused on physical training, to which his father silently pondered Mash's lack of magical abilities and avoided the question.

Regro instructed Mash to stay indoors while he left the house, but Mash disregarded his father's request and ventured out to the city to buy some exclusive Goblin cream puffs. In his eagerness to acquire them, he accidentally deformed the coins using his bare hand. Mash quickly remedied the situation, but in doing so, his hood fell off and exposed his unmarked face. This revelation caused the people around him to gossip about his unique appearance. Word of an unmarked individual in the city eventually reached Brad Coleman, a magical police officer.

In the city, Mash had a run-in with Terry, a member of the magical police force, and shortly afterward, Brad appeared on the scene. Brad quickly recognized Mash as the unmarked person and moved to arrest him, but Regro intervened and whisked Mash away to safety. Brad attempted to pursue them, but he used a spell to track their whereabouts.

Upon returning home, Regro attempted to reprimand Mash for his actions, but he couldn't bring himself to do so as Mash was clearly upset about what had transpired. Instead, he assigned his son additional physical training as punishment. Once Mash left, the magical police force, consisting of Brad, Terry, and another officer, descended upon the Burnedead residence in an effort to capture Mash and end the situation.
